    Separate overall DC-to-RF or power-added efficiency from internal converter efficiency.

  • Spurious emissions and isolation

    Check phase noise, harmonics, intermodulation, switch isolation and gain control against the end-to-end link.

  • Thermal and mechanical interfaces · W / °C / mm

    Specify dissipated heat, baseplate limits, RF connector/waveguide standard and mounting.

  • Qualification and traceability

    Request radiation/SEE screening, lot traceability, vacuum/multipaction evidence and life requirements for the actual part.

Selection & integration notes
  • Build the chain as linked supplier records rather than pretending one amplifier represents the whole payload.
  • NewSpace COTS, radiation-tolerant silicon, qualified hybrid and programme-qualified equipment are distinct acceptance approaches.
  • For transmit modules, compare linear output and DC draw in the same operating mode. Internal power-supply efficiency cannot be substituted for amplifier efficiency.
  • Passive components require their own insertion-loss, power-handling, thermal and multipaction evidence.
