F02Radiator panels

Reject waste heat to space.

Manufacturers & products

Radiator sourcing includes custom panels, deployed assemblies and the optical films applied to their surfaces. Heat transport within the panel and radiation from its surface are separate performance questions.

These are sourcing candidates, not a confirmed Starlink supply chain.

Manufacturer inquiry

Use the manufacturer's linked product information to request a configuration-specific quotation and current availability.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Confirm radiator-surface optical properties for the selected material; an MLI reflector film is not automatically a radiator coating.

What remains unverified

  • Production status for the older TMT development sheet remains unverified.
  • No universal radiator watts-per-area figure is assigned, because temperature, finish, viewing geometry and environment change it.
  • No confirmed Starlink radiator supplier is established.

Where it comes from

A company address is shown separately from a published factory location. Request the manufacturing site and lot traceability for the exact part when sourcing.

What to compare

  • Radiating area & view factor ·

Measure unobstructed area and the surfaces visible to it, including Earth and the Sun.

  • Heat rejection at temperature · W / °C

Compare rejection at the same panel temperature and orbital environment; watts alone are insufficient.

  • Solar absorptance & emittance

Ask for beginning- and end-of-life optical properties and the test method.

  • Temperature uniformity · K

Check spreading performance between the heat input and the radiating surface.

  • Transport interface

Define embedded heat pipes, conductive joints, loops and any deployable hinge.

  • Mass per area & stiffness · kg/m²

Compare the complete panel, coating, plumbing and deployment hardware.

  • Deployed / stowed envelope

Verify clearances, deployment reliability and launch packaging.

  • Contamination & environmental durability

Assess atomic oxygen, radiation and coating degradation for the intended orbit.

  • Acceptance evidence

Request thermal-vacuum correlation, leak testing where applicable, and structural qualification.

Selection & integration notes
  • A radiator's heat rejection cannot be reduced to one fixed wattage independent of its temperature and surroundings.
  • Optical films are upstream materials; they do not include a structural panel or the thermal path from electronics.
  • The TMT example below is explicitly a development reference. Its analytical and measured values must not be treated as a delivered flight-unit guarantee.
