C07GNSS receiver & antenna

Estimate orbital position, velocity, and time.

Manufacturers & products

Space GNSS receivers provide orbit position, velocity and time. A flight receiver, its antenna/LNA and any onboard orbit-processing software must be selected together; terrestrial development receivers are not automatically usable in orbit.

These are sourcing candidates, not a confirmed Starlink supply chain.

What remains unverified

  • General Dynamics explicitly lists Viceroy as discontinued; Explorer is the current reference retained here.
  • Some older public GNSS datasheets remain useful but need revision and orderability checks.
  • Many advertised position figures omit confidence level, dynamic conditions or antenna setup; omitted conditions are not invented.

Where it comes from

A company address is shown separately from a published factory location. Request the manufacturing site and lot traceability for the exact part when sourcing.

What to compare

  • Orbit accuracy · m; cm; RMS; σ

Separate real-time navigation, onboard precise orbit determination, and ground post-processed orbit solutions, including statistical confidence.

  • Signals and frequencies

Compare enabled constellations, single versus multi-frequency reception, tracking channels and firmware options.

  • Flight dynamics and orbit · km; km/s

Confirm altitude, velocity, acceleration and weak-signal tracking for the intended orbit and acquisition state.

  • Antenna and RF chain

Include antenna patterns, polarization, cable loss, LNA bias and multiple-antenna switching or combining.

  • Timing · ns; RMS; σ

Check 1PPS accuracy, reference timescale, latency and synchronization interfaces.

  • Outage recovery · s

Assess time to first fix, cold/warm start assumptions and navigation propagation between fixes.

  • Electrical and mechanical budget · W; g; mm

Receiver-only power can exclude antennas and amplifiers; include the complete navigation chain.

  • Flight configuration and evidence

Require the correct space-enabled firmware, radiation evidence, interfaces and delivered performance conditions.

Selection & integration notes
  • A GNSS antenna is not a complete receiver; an OEM board may need enclosure, power conditioning and flight software.
  • Ground equipment for receiving LEO navigation signals is different from a spaceborne receiver; Septentrio LeoRx was excluded on that basis.
  • Catalog examples are not interchangeable performance guarantees across LEO, GEO and lunar missions.
