D03Propellant feed system

Meter and control propellant delivery.

Manufacturers & products

Propellant feed encompasses storage isolation, pressure regulation, filtration, metering, valves, tubing and sensing. Some vendors sell complete assemblies; others supply building blocks or integrate purchased hardware. Hall gas feed is separated here from adjacent cold-gas and chemical-propulsion capabilities.

These are sourcing candidates, not a confirmed Starlink supply chain.

manufacturer

Moog

Xenon flow controllers and mechanical regulators

Supplies xenon metering assemblies and separate high-pressure mechanical regulators. These occupy different stages of the feed chain and should not share one undifferentiated pressure rating. [9][10]

Manufacturer inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

manufacturer

Marotta Controls

Satellite constellation valves and regulators

Offers latching valves, micropneumatic regulation and satellite gas-feed components. The exact model governs compatibility, flow, pressure and whether continuous holding power is required. [11]

Manufacturer inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Do not treat all gases listed for a product family as qualified for every valve model.

manufacturer

The Lee Company

Space fluid-control components

Supplies valves, restrictors and other compact fluid-control building blocks for space systems. An integrator must still design, assemble and qualify the complete propellant path. [12]

Manufacturer inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Component procurement is not a turnkey Hall feed assembly.

manufacturer

ArianeGroup

Xenon Regulating Feed System (XRFS)

Offers xenon pressure regulation for electric propulsion as well as other spacecraft valves. The reviewed XRFS is associated with ion-engine feed, so Hall compatibility needs verification. [13][8]

ExoTerra Resource

Propellant Flow Controller and Management Assembly

Offers metering and tank-pressure-management components for its propulsion architecture. The flow controller and management assembly perform different jobs and have different pressure boundaries. [5][4]

manufacturer

Orbion Space Technology

Aurora Propellant Management Assembly

Offers the Aurora PMA as a separate component or within its complete engine. The assembly provides anode/cathode feeding with control allocated to the matched power electronics. [3]

Manufacturer inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Request the current complete feed schematic and pressure envelope for the chosen tank and thruster.

SETS

Xenon feed systems and feed components

Offers feed assemblies alongside its Hall systems and describes in-house valves, accumulators, restrictors and filling hardware. A quote should distinguish components from a qualified assembly. [7][6]

integrator

Busek

Integrated propulsion propellant management

Offers propellant management within matched Hall propulsion systems, combining in-house and commercially sourced elements. The underlying component manufacturer can differ from the system supplier. [1]

Custom program inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Standalone feed-assembly purchase is not established by the integrated-system page.

integrator

Safran

Electric propulsion propellant management

Offers integrated electric-propulsion scope including propellant management and regulation. Public portfolio material identifies the system function but does not establish the OEM of every internal valve. [2]

Custom program inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • The reviewed portfolio is older; confirm current configuration, contracting entity and standalone procurement.

integrator

Bradford Space

Cold-gas systems and pressure instrumentation

Offers cold-gas system integration and space pressure instrumentation. These are adjacent feed-chain capabilities; the reviewed sources do not establish a drop-in Hall xenon feed package. [14][15]

Custom program inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Cold-gas heritage does not establish Hall anode/cathode metering compatibility.

integrator

OHB Sweden

Propulsion subsystem integration / EPSylon

Integrates electric, chemical and cold-gas propulsion with tubing, assembly and subsystem-level engineering. This is an integration partner rather than a claim to manufacture every feed component. [16][17]

Custom program inquiry

Manufacturer inquiry is the apparent ordering route; confirm configuration, quotation and availability directly.

Product scope & qualifications
  • Confirm hardware sourcing and feed-component responsibilities within the proposed system.

What remains unverified

  • This is a supplier map, not a demonstrated compatible feed system for every listed Hall thruster.
  • Standalone availability for several integrated-engine feed assemblies is not publicly established.
  • Bradford is included as an adjacent feed/integration supplier, with its cold-gas scope labelled rather than implied to be a Hall-specific product.

Where it comes from

A company address is shown separately from a published factory location. Request the manufacturing site and lot traceability for the exact part when sourcing.

What to compare

  • Scope and architecture

Identify included isolation valves, regulator, metering, filters, sensors, tubing and redundancy.

  • Inlet and outlet pressure · bar, psi

Match the full tank blowdown curve to the regulator and downstream metering operating range.

  • Flow range and precision · mg/s

Compare anode and cathode flow separately at stated upstream pressure and propellant.

  • Fluid compatibility

Check wetted materials, seals, purity limits and contamination requirements for the selected gas.

  • Internal and external leakage · scc/s

Preserve test gas, pressure, temperature and leak-rate definition when comparing.

  • Valve life and response · cycles, ms, W

Check cycles, response time, latch behavior and holding power for the actual mission duty cycle.

  • Electrical control

Match drivers, pulse/hold currents, telemetry and PPU or spacecraft control ownership.

  • Mass and integration · g, mm

Include plates, tubing, heaters and supports rather than comparing bare-valve mass with assembly mass.

  • Qualification and acceptance

Request proof/leak/cleanliness records and environmental testing for the assembled feed path.

Selection & integration notes
  • High-pressure regulation and low-pressure metering are distinct functions. A downstream flow controller does not necessarily connect directly to the storage tank.
  • Anode and cathode branches may have different control requirements; capture both in the component detail panel.
  • Procure a matched feed/PPU/thruster combination or explicitly allocate responsibility for interface verification.
